Mayor's Message

On behalf of the Town Council and Staff I would like to welcome you to our community website and to visit our jewel nestled on the banks of its namesake Snow Lake in Northern Manitoba. The Town of Snow Lake is located 700 kilometers north of Winnipeg and is situated a short twenty-minute ride north on Highway 392 from Highway 39, approximately halfway between the communities of Flin Flon and Thompson.

Ten minutes into your journey up Highway 392 will take you past picturesque Wekusko Falls Provincial Park. The Park has 100 plus camping spots and 2 swinging bridges that take you across different sections of the Grass River as it drops through Wekusko Falls. Wekusko Falls Lodge offers accommodation and guided fishing and hunting adventures.

Our community has some of the best world-class trophy fishing in summer or winter, whether it be Walleye, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, or Northern Pike. A beautiful beach located right in the heart of the Community offers summer activities for all. Our beach transforms to a staging area on July 1st to host fireworks display that receives rave reviews every year.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy boating, fishing, quad riding, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, cross country skiing, and the list goes on. Our local Snowdrifters snowmobile club maintains an extensive groomed trail system with links to the broader Manitoba Snowman trail system. A newly formed Snow Lake ATV club will be upgrading existing trails and establishing new trails for off-road enthusiasts. There are abundant opportunities for people into nature photography, whether it just be the beauty of the general outdoors or countless opportunities for wildlife pictures, bear, moose, caribou, fox lynx, and countless birds from Bald Eagles, Osprey, and Cranes to name a few.

The Town offers numerous amenities and services that include a grocery store, two gas stations, post office, RBC bank, pharmacy, medical clinic, hardware store, Royal Canadian Legion, and accommodations at the Snow Lake Motor Inn and Good Times coffee shop. Additionally, the Town hosts a beautiful 9-hole golf course and clubhouse, curling rink, indoor and outdoor shooting ranges, baseball diamond and of course a Mining Museum that reflects the rich mining heritage of the Snow Lake area.

Welcome again and we hope to see you visit or come to stay in Snow Lake!

Mayor Ron Scott
